Meetings

General Committee Meetings are held at 5.00pm on the 2nd Monday of each month in the Council Chambers. The General Committee is responsible for researching and making recommendations to Council and does so in consultation with Senior Management and the community.  Council meetings are held at 5.00pm on the 4th Monday of each month in the Council Chambers.

Open Forum
The meeting commences with Open Forum. Open Forum is time available for any member of the public to address Council on any matter of concern and request that action be taken. While the requested action or outcome cannot be guaranteed Council will hear and consider all reasonable concerns presented to it in an acceptable manner. Open Forum commences at 5.00pm and concludes at 5.30pm when Council commences the part of the meeting dealing with reports and recommendations. These matters are then confirmed in the latter part of the meeting. For some confidential matters the Council retires "into committee" and the public is asked to leave the Chambers. Councillors can also raise concerns they have or that have been brought to their attention by residents of the Shire. These are either put into action or referred to the relevant section of Council for determination.
