    Skate Park

Officially opened in April 2008, the Cowra Skate Park is the result of many years of lobbying by the youth of Cowra, fundraising by the community and planning and project management by Cowra Council.

The Skate Park was designed by Red Box Design Group, who after consultation with the Cowra Community, came up with a unique and challenging concept to appeal to all ‘skating’ styles and skill levels including skateboards, bikes, blades and scooters.

The components include an impressive 1.4m high ski jump, two fun boxes with ledges, rails and hubbas, a 30 degree flat bank with kicker, 0.8m high half pyramid and a 2.4m radius quarter pipe.

The Skate Park’s location in the Col Stinson Park sporting complex (which includes asphalt and grass netball courts, a modified size soccer field, toilets and parking) means that the facility has quickly become a popular spectator venue for families.  Its close proximity to the Cowra PCYC gives way to the future expansion of youth recreation activities in this area.

The Cowra Skate Park was completed through joint funding provided by NSW Sport and Recreation, Cowra Shire Council and the Cowra Skate Park Committee (through their fundraising efforts).

The Cowra Skate Park is open for use during daylight hours.  In accordance with Council policy, organisations may apply to book the skate park for a regular program or special event.  Patrons are advised that Council has approved a regular booking by Cowra High School to conduct supervised skating lessons on Wednesday afternoons from 1.15pm - 3.15pm during school terms.  The skate park is closed to members of the public at these times.
